Yipee! My latest book, Mirasol Book 28 is now back from the printers and with my US and Canadian distributors. I’ve not seen it yet myself, even though I have looked over the patterns and proofs 101 million times, it’s always exciting seeing it in ‘real-life’
The Asikita yarn is beautiful to knit with. It is different from other Spring Summer yarns in Mirasol, as it is a chainette (like Ushya). This seems to mean, for me anyway, that it holds the stitch patterns perfectly.
We went to Spain to photograph the book, as you can’t really get a summer feel in the UK in the snow! It was a very quick trip, we went out one day, stayed over and flew back the next day. I have a brilliant photographer, make up artist and model, so we can work together really well and really quickly which is what is needed sometimes!
I love what I do, it is so exciting producing simple, easy to knit garments. When I design I always think of the knitter’s enjoyment. I like the knitting to be fun. I like the knitting to be simple. This isn’t always simple to design, but it is exciting to finally get the right design for the yarn. I feel it is important to match a yarn with a stitch pattern.
I hope you enjoy looking at the Asikita designs!
